For people with baggy lower eyelids, there are options to correct that. Dr. Francis Palmer, a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, explains what transconjunctival lower eyelid blepharoplasty is on his website. He says that it is performed though an incision that is created on the inside of the lower eyelid. The plastic surgeon then identifies the fatty layers in the medial, central, and lateral fat pockets. After he or she dissects the orbital septum open, the excess fat is teased out of each of these pockets. The lateral fat pocket is often looked at a second time because it is often overlooked in the initial removal of fat.
